RIP Lena Horne
Born on June 30, 1917, Lena Horne was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world and was the first black woman in Hollywood to sign a long-term contract with a major studio. In the contract it stated she would never have to play a maid. An amazing Sexfresh female of our time and forever.
Heavy Rotation: La Roux!

I admit I haven’t been posting faithfully, and I have to sincerely apologize about that. Things are getting kind of crazy at school with midterms fast approaching! I haven’t had ample time to peruse around the internet for new posting material as much as I wanted, but rest assured that now I’m a bit better with my time management (achieved by a heavy session of prioritizing, which everyone goes through now and then).
Anyway, I wanted to share something (or rather, someone) I came across not too long ago–Her name is Eleanor Jackson, better known as the female half of the British electro-pop duo La Roux, and I’ve had some of their songs in heavy rotation during the past week.
Janelle Monae “Tightrope” ft. Big Boy
Janelle Monae is back with her new video, “Tightrope” featuring Big Boi. Her album, ArchAndroid drops May 18! With her funky tightrope dance, i won’t be surprised if MTV doesn’t pick it up as a dance challenge move on America’s Best Dance Crew.
J*Davey – Outta The Window
J*DaVeY is a multi-genre duo from Los Angeles, CA whose sound can be described as a combination of alternative hip hop, electronica, surf, new wave and R&B futurists. Their latest album, released in December is called Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes – which you can download here. Check out the new video:
Janelle Monáe: ArchAndroid Cover

My oh my… With this album cover, I’m more anxious about this upcoming album. How gorgeous is she and how amazing is that “ArchAndroid crown”?!
Whether or not the following information came from Ryan Wakeman, WARPA, the Gaiming community or Janelle Monáe’s journals, Max Stellings and the Palace of the Dogs Archives is inconclusive at this time…What is known or agreed upon is that this information stems from an official entry on The ArchAndroid Crown in the Living Cyktionary, a 28th Century encyclopedia…
The ArchAndroid Crown: Designed by Zoman Ignatius, the half-elf, half-human mystic, reportedly 500 years ago. According to legend, the crown has several magic properties, as well as innovative technologies that can be employed only by The ArchAndroid. Zoman was a consummate inventor, artist and sculptor, a cross between Tesla and Da Vinci, and as such, he designed the crown to be a work of beauty that would embody the very spirit of Metropolis. According to legend, the crown features prominent Metropolis buildings and towers that will light up radiantly when the one and only true ArchAndroid wears the crown. According to the Daily Horos, this opulent headdress was stolen from the vaults in the Black House, reportedly by 1954, in October of 2715. Several members of 1954 were hunted down and executed for this crime. But the crown was never found. Many claim it has been secreted away to the Wonderground. There is also word that in the year 2010, several 1954 operatives have crafted a replica of this historic headdress to be worn by Janelle Monáe in anticipation for her album The ArchAndroid…no word on whether or not this replica has magic properties… The Living Cyktionary, 9th Edition, 2719.

Throwback Thursdays
Pretty much my all time favorite ladies group from the 90’s! News flash: they are set to release an album this year. I’m very anxious for them and what they’ve got for us.

Kelis-Acapella
I definitely love the make up, face accessories, color schemes, exotic tribal intake and pretty much everything but the track itself. I get that some artists constantly look to progress their sound but it’s just not my cup of tea. Tried to enjoy it on mute as well but that was SUPER trippy lol. Although she has jumped into the Progressive House and Electronic scene, I hope her album release of ”Flesh Tone” will have some dope tracks. After listening to “Acapella”, I think she is more appealing in the R&B/Soul/Hip Hop genre. Enjoy this video for now! Let me know if y’all dig it?!
Throwback Thursdays – The Boyz “Dial My Heart”
Heard this song last night, thought I’d share…enjoy!
Goldfrapp: Head First

Head First was released earlier this week. Finally, I had the chance to wind down and listen to it. On opposite ends of her previous albums. It still remains intimate but is 80’s and a bit of new wave and disco oriented. Makes me wanna run through the woods with a flash dance outfit on topped with a leather studded jacket lol. Definitely love her previous albums but I’m diggin’ the progression… What do you guys think?!
Janelle Monáe Show: Recap

One word can almost best describe Miss Monáe’s performance: WOW. Her photos be lookin’ cute, but in person she is this super adorable yet gorgeous petite lil’ thang full of character. After seeing her incredible performance, I am officially in love with her lol. The opening acts were Otis Heat (great band) and Bruno Mars. Ok… So I never knew who sang “Nothin’ On You” until Bruno Mars performed it as their last song lol (excuse my selective knowledge). I was seized by amazing vocals, talent and production by all three performances that constantly kept my ears and body vibin’. And I love the Viper Room, I literally could have lifted my leg and stepped on stage. Cameras weren’t allowed in the joint but bare with the photos taken with my iphone cam lol.

Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce – Telephone
The highly anticipated music video of Lady Gaga’s 2nd single of Fame Monster premiered today. I don’t think there has been this much hype wrapped around a music video before. And as always Gaga never disappoints. Check it out here:
Love all the costumes esp. the Jeremy Scott ring & sunglasses, styling, pop graphics, and colors. Lady Gaga and Honey B are definitely two bitches you don’t want to fuck with..
Janelle Monáe

I love creative minds, especially illustrating in ways that isn’t catered to the masses (and that is difficult to do). She definitely is out there and out of the box. I just love her imaginary humor and her fearlessness to throw herself in the forefront. For those of you should take interest of Miss Janelle Monáe, she is on tour and is set to hit Los Angeles this month. Her debut album “ArchAndroid” is “due everywhere” May 18, 2010. I’m sure we’ll definitely be hearing a few tracks from the album. I just copped my tics! Aaaah… I LOVE her steeeez lol. Did I mention she was a Grammy Award nominee and is signed with Bad Boy/Atlantic Records?

Black Eyed Peas – Imma Be
This is my favorite song of the moment. Every time I hear this song on the radio, I turn it up and imagine how the choreography is going to be in the music video. Well, here it is…
Pretty cool concept…can’t knock Will.I.Am’s creativity and wanting to take music to the next level, but I was a little disappointed that BEP didn’t add their own freestyle moves to it. Do they just don’t know how to dance anymore? I miss the dreds and long hair days circa 1998. Remember when Black Eyed Peas was known for gettin’ down?
Gaga O La La
New video, Lady Gaga – Bad Romance. SO fucking rad!
Rhianna’s New Album Cover & Single
Rhianna’s fourth album is rumored to be released for November, 23 this year. Her new single, ‘Russian Roulette’, has labelmate, Ne-Yo, as the producer and writer. Other collabs featured on her album are The Dream, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, Chase & Status, and Justin Timberlake.
