I admit I haven’t been posting faithfully, and I have to sincerely apologize about that. Things are getting kind of crazy at school with midterms fast approaching! Known as “The female Manny Pacquiao,” Bay-Area Pinoy beauty locks horns with Lisa Brown March 27th for WBA Super Bantamweight Title. Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton is smart, beautiful, and can fight like crazy! In boxing terms, this girl is the total package! And with ESPN starting to take notice, she is scheduled to fight Toronto’s Lisa “Bad News” Brown.
At Rumble at Rama XI, on March 27th, at Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario, Julaton (6-1-1, 1 KO) and Brown (16-4-3, 5 KO’s) square off for the vacant WBA Super Bantamweight world title in the most important women’s fight of the year, and one of the most important the sport has ever seen.
The 29 year-old Julaton has already proven her fighting mettle in her brief, yet accomplished, career, with her most notable win coming last September in San Jose, California, where she topped veteran Kelsey Jeffries to claim the vacant IBA female Junior Bantamweight title.
Julaton added to her belt collection just 11 weeks later by outclassing Donna Biggers over 10 rounds to capture the WBO 122 lb world crown.

The Oscars: Red Carpet
First of all, a big congrats to Pete Docter, the cast and crew for winning Best Animation for UP! I LOVELOVELOVE this movie. It makes my heart all warm and fuzzy-no joke.
Aaand now onto the red carpet spotlight! I love to watch the fashion on the red carpet because it always amazes me whether it be beautifully or horribly. I think you would have to agree that some high fashion runways BELONG strictly on the catwalk. So many designers do an amazing job but murder it simply with an additional piece(s) that would’ve looked gorgeous without it. Here’s my top dresses that did things JUST RIGHT. What was you’re best dressed list?
Ding Ding-Winner’s Circle:
Kristen Stewart wrapped in Monique Lhuillier. Very sexy, sophisticated and a lil’ playfulness goin’ on.
The Queeeeen… Queen Latifah covered in this beautiful light lavender shade by Badgley Mischka. She couldn’t have picked a more perfect color. Very simple and glamorous.
Meryl Streep, wearing Chris March and I’ve got a huge crush on it. This obviously is worn by a woman old enough to be my grandma yet I can see a sophisticated lady in her mid 20’s wear this. I love the semi masculine shoulders. It’s very covered up yet sexified with the cut of the neck.
My BAD List:
Charlize Theron… in Christian Dior. This is the first time she’s been on my “Never-Ever” list. I’d have to say, I’m disappointed.
Zoe Saldana, beautiful face in a horrible dress by Givenchy.
I just had to point out that Miss Jane Doe is wearin’ a traditional Vietnamese dress lol. I’ve seen better ones!

SpongeBob Gets A Makeover
To add to his list of collaborations, Karl Lagerfeld gives another iconic character a makeover. Painted in gold, thin black shades, leather gloves, and a fancy white shirt, SpongeBob looks like he’s red for red carpet hautness!
The figurine got the highest bid at a recent Paris fundraiser for WWF, generating 1,000 euros, or about $1,500 at current exchange.

Introducing: Mayer Hawthorne
Growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan – born as Andrew Cohen – Mayer Hawthorne was immersed in rich soul and jazz music. He is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer, looks like your average white guy, talented, and just signed on to Peanut Butter Wolf’s record label, Stones Throw Records. His sound is clearly Doo-wop, but they are not throwbacks, it is a revival of progressive soul music.
He moved to Los Angeles a couple years ago and it has been the best move he has done in his career so far. He is easy to talk to, charming, and he sounds really good live. His first single, “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out” sounds so smooth that you forget that it’s a song about breaking up.
